About This Quote

The word friend is a very subjective term, there are so many different ways to define being a "friend." But if we look at this quote from a literary perspective, it could be said that the writer really only has one friend, and that's the paragraph. In order to have a true friendship with a paragraph, you have to read it over and over again. If you're not careful, you'll start getting confused by all the commas and quotation marks and just when you think you've got it, the writer changes the rules again.
